We are all very sad indeed to learn of the passing of Pat Evanson. Our hearts go out to Dave, her husband, and the family. All of them have rallied magnificently to support Pat this past year, and they now are filled with anguish and grief.
Everything possible was done for Pat. She bravely has endured unpleasant medical procedures so she could stay longer with her beloved family. They would have done anything to keep her. Dave and Pat had 58 precious years together. Now those happy memories must sustain him. Meanwhile, Pat now rests in God’s loving arms.
Our prayers for Pat have been heard, as are all sincere prayers, but the answer always has be subject to “God willing”. Although I believe prayer makes a difference, and that healing comes about through prayer, it cannot win against some of the biological processes which are part of the human condition. If it could we would all be able to live for ever!
Pat was one of the very first people to chat with me 13 years ago as I was about to come to St Peters. I remember the occasion distinctly – it was in the old library in Crewe. She had a real gift for putting folks at their ease.
She has supported this church in many ways – attendance in worship, fundraising, social events, etc. She and Dave have been part of the life of the church, part of its very soul. She will be missed like crazy.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory!
